What did you do before SH?

My background is actually in PR and Marketing, so creating a brand from scratch was always extremely appealing to me. After working in New York as an instructor, fitness model and other fitness-related roles, I realized an opportunity to define a new way of using the Megaformer by combining it with cardio in a bootcamp style class. I tried every class in New York and I always came back to the Megaformer and Woodway (at different studios) to get in the best shape and to feel the best about myself. I needed to be able to go to a Nike or Shape Magazine casting at the drop of a hat, so being able to have the confidence, endurance and strength while staying injury-free was essential.

What unique style do you bring to your classes?

I grew up playing team sports, so as an instructor I fall into a coaching role, encouraging you to be the best version of yourself that day in those 50 minutes. I love getting people pumped up so that they will go beyond what they would normally be able to do without our classes. Great, upbeat music, encouraging words and a few expletives go a long way!

What edge do you bring to SH?

I’ve always had two sides to me, an athlete, tomboy, unapologetically myself vibe and a very feminine, girly, artistic side. Together they mesh into this vibe that I think is very SculptHouse. I think our brand is really a reflection of my personality. Unisex, trend-setting, sleek but makes a statement, doesn’t focus on what others think, just focuses on being 100% yourself… our workout, clothes and studios aim to appeal to men and women who want to be a part of something somewhat understated but undeniably ahead of the curve.

Guilty pleasure?

Queso and a Skinny Margarita. Cards Against Humanity. A great dramatic TV show. Dancing to great music with no care in the world.

What brought you to SculptHouse?

Katherine took my spin class at a nearby studio and briefly told me about her SculptHouse idea. After doing some research on the technique and machines, I reached out to her on Facebook, and expressed I was interested in discussing further. We met for over 2 hours the first time and then began speaking daily about ideas for the workout and the design for the studio. After a month and a half, I was officially offered the Creative Director and Lead Trainer position - I had the opportunity to help create a brand new workout that had never been done before in a full-time setting! It was a chance to make fitness a career and not just a job.

What did you do before SH?

Before I accepted the position with SculptHouse, I had about 7 years of experience as a group fitness instructor. I spent 5 years in LA as a personal swim trainer and spin teacher at Equinox. When I moved to Atlanta, I continued as a spin instructor, but was ready for something completely new and full of possibilities. I wanted to help create the SculptHouse method, see it grow and introduce the combination of the Megafomer with the Curve treadmill.

What unique style do you bring to your classes?

My unique style would be my personal connection to each class....I really try to make each class similar to a personal training session by watching and connecting with each client. I offer modifications when needed or extra challenges to our members who have been coming for a long time. I would say my biggest asset is being an excellent multi-tasker! I am able to assist a client on one side of the room, continue to give clear instructions over the mic for the rest of the class, and spot another client across the room who has the wrong spring load or working the wrong leg!

Two facts about yourself that would surprise others?

I was a nationally ranked swimmer at 13 years old and can play the piano.

What brought you to SculptHouse?

Megan Armstrong! Megan and I were friends and she was embarking on a new career move that was going to revolutionize the fitness industry. I knew SH would be special and I wanted to be apart of something that would not only change people's bodies but make a huge impact in how we view the fitness industry. I love the combination of cardiovascular conditioning and strength training. The SH method is a great combination of HIIT on the Woodway Curve and strength training on the M3.

What did you do before SH?

I received my B.A. from Azusa Pacific University, Master's Degree from Liberty University and taught FlyBarre.

What unique style do you bring to your classes?

I want to know my clients on a personal level so I strive to give them personal attention … aaaaaaand I’ll probably throw in a few bad dance moves here and there!

Where can we find you outside of SH?

You can find me at Buckhead Church, spending time with my amazing husband, Jonathan, and sweet baby girl, Andie, hanging out with dear friends, on a run or curled up reading a good book!

What brought you to SculptHouse?

Katherine, the owner, was featured in the Jezebel's Best Bodies issue and after reading her story I decided to apply to SculptHouse. Her "girl-boss" attitude was inspiring and I knew the workout she was bringing to Atlanta was going to be special. Once I moved to Atlanta, I knew I wanted to instruct at a fitness studio, but was seeking something brand new and unique! Katherine's concept was genius, so it was a no brainer that this was the studio I wanted to be part of and am so happy to be one of the original instructors!

What did you do before SculptHouse?

I continue to do the same things I did before joining SculptHouse, just added a fun training job to the mix! I am a Registered Nurse, in graduate school to become a Family Nurse Practitioner, and in my 4th season with the Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders. Prior to becoming a trainer, I always used dancing as my workout, but the extra toning and resistance work on the Megaformer and the stamina I have built running on the Woodway Curve Treadmill, I can see a significant improvement in my dancing!

What unique style do you bring to your classes?

Clients have pointed out that I tend to talk through the emotions the clients are feeling - whether it is breathlessness or an "AGHH" sound. I also try to be extremely motivating - whether its' a small word of encouragement, or some good ole' tough love the client needs to push through that last all out sprint, hold a move a little deeper, or turn that slow four count into something a little longer. I definitely bring a challenging routine, a killer playlist, and an encouraging but hardcore spirit to my classes!

Guilty pleasure?

What brought you to SculptHouse?

Megan and I worked together at a previous studio and she brought me over to SH to work the front desk when the studio first opened. I knew I had to be a part of this amazing team, so when auditions for new instructors came around I jumped at the opportunity! After lots of training sessions, mock classes and co-teaching classes, I became an instructor in December of 2016.

What did you do before SculptHouse?

I've always had a love for fitness and spent my entire life playing soccer and being active. When it came time to enter the real world I became an account manager, but always kept my enthusiasm for fitness. In the Spring of 2015, with the support of my husband, I left my full time job as an account manager and became Certified in Spin Instructing. Shortly after, while working for a spin studio I became NASM certified as a Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor.

What unique style do you bring to your classes?

I have high energy and provide a very motivating, positive workout environment. I am also very selective about my music choices, which I think elevates any workout from good to great! I love to chat with and meet the people who come to SculptHouse, which helps me get to know everyone and provide a better, and more focused workout to each individual.

Guilty pleasure?

Mexican food, specifically guac, chips and a skinny margarita! And the pasta and wine next door, at Storico Fresco!

What brought you to SculptHouse?

When I first moved to Buckhead, a friend told me I needed to go check out this new studio, Sculpthouse. I remember taking my first class there with the owner, Kat. The class was amazing and I loved the concept, energy, and overall atmosphere. After that, I knew I wanted to be a part of the SH community. As soon as they started auditioning for new instructors, I jumped at the opportunity and it's been one of the best decisions I've made :)

What did you do before SculptHouse?

I've always loved group fitness classes, so a few years ago I decided to transition from an individual client instructor, to a group fitness instructor. Prior to SculptHouse and currently, I teach at Pure Barre and love it! After taking a class on the Megaformer, I knew I not only wanted to add the workout to my fitness routine, but instruct classes. Now, I'm so grateful to be a part of such an amazing team of women and to work with such great clients here at SculptHouse.

What unique style do you bring to your classes?

I strive to bring my positive & high energy to every class. If I'm really feeling it, you might see me bust a few dance moves or hear me crack a few jokes:) I also know how essential a good playlist is to group fitness- I love to crank the music up and let the beats motivate you to push harder. You will hear a good mix of hip hop (always a throwback or two), booty music (anything that makes you want to shake it;) and EDM remixes!

Guilty pleasure?

Sweet potato fries from Yeah Burger and sweet potato chips from Gusto!

What brought you to SculptHouse?

I am a fitness fanatic and leading up to my wedding my usual spin classes and runs outside just weren't cutting it. I needed to change it up and wanted a new workout to get me into the best shape of my life! I started attending classes at SculptHouse and as soon as I saw the amazing results, I instantly became a member. The workout was different from anything else I had ever done and I absolutely loved that! It really pushes you out of your comfort zone, but that ends up being so rewarding! When the opportunity to audition to become an instructor came up, I couldn't let it pass- so here I am today.

What did you do before SculptHouse?

After giving up my career doing marketing at Sephora in San Francisco to move to Atlanta for my husband I decided to get into the fitness industry and became a barre3 instructor.

What unique style do you bring to your classes?

Being an athlete my whole life, I believe you must get out of your comfort zone in order to improve. I push clients to really challenge themselves in a motivating and uplifting way. I've been told by a couple clients that I have a soothing voice, so I hope that distracts people from the burn they feel on the megaformer and allows them to get deeper.

Where can we find you outside of SH?

You can most likely find me at home either cuddling with my two French Bulldogs, Spike and Spade, cooking for my blog Sage and Celery, or watching movies with my husband. If I am not there, then you can definitely find me at my second home, Whole Foods.

What brought you to SculptHouse?

I love the unique combination of strength training and cardio. I have never been much of a runner but the cardio programs are designed to be challenging and dynamic making the time fly.

What did you do before SculptHouse?

I am originally from New Jersey and came to the south to attend college. I graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Actuarial Science. I was a member of the Dance Tallahassee performance team during my time at FSU and have been a dancer since the age of 3. My passion for training others began in high school while teaching ballet classes at my dance studio. It’s a passion that has grown to include many different elements of fitness training and has ultimately led me to SculptHouse!

What unique style do you bring to your classes?

I like to get to know my class. So if you come early, don’t be surprised if I ask your name and what you did this weekend. I’d like to think that if I know my class I will be better able to push them to their limits and help them grow.

Where can we find you outside of SculptHouse?

I really enjoy walking the beltline on the weekends with friends (and my pup Bear). You can find me on a nice patio sipping a margarita.

What brought you to SculptHouse?

I heard about SH from another instructor, Alex, who is one of my teammates cheering for the Falcons. I'm naturally comfortable as a leader, so I wanted to try my hand at group fitness instruction and SH seemed like an awesome new studio and workout to do just that!

What did you do before SculptHouse?

Before SH and currently, I work full time in supply chain analytics and cheer for the Atlanta Falcons on the side. These days, it is the same, just with a little extra megaformer action!

What unique style do you bring to your classes?

I'm pretty lighthearted, so I do my best to make my classes fun, but also intense and challenging! Yeah, I may single you out to run faster, but that means I know you can do it :) I can also be found occasionally dancing up and down the aisle between the machines.

Where can we find you outside of SculptHouse?

Outside of SH I'm pretty much at the office, at practice, or trying to recover from it all. I do like to go see my family, and I'm usually spending my weekends at Georgia Tech for home football games. My friends commonly describe me as "the busiest person" they know.

What brought you to SculptHouse?

With the fitness industry now playing such a huge role in the fashion industry, I have found my niche at SculptHouse...fitness and fashion under one roof!

What did you do before SculptHouse?

After graduating from college, I was in corporate sales before leaping into the fashion industry.

What edge do you bring to SH?

Fashion has always been an innate thing for me. My mother said that from the moment I could walk, I was in her closet, finding her best stilettos and prancing all over the house. I have found that this innate sense translates into allowing me to help every client identify their personal and individual style, while more importantly empowering them with confidence!

What brought you to SculptHouse?

I took a leap of faith and left my job in medical device sales, to make my passion of health and fitness, my career. SculptHouse had just opened and immediately grabbed my attention, with the one-of-a-kind workout, stylish boutique, and overall brand concept. It felt like the perfect first step on my new career path! I started working at the front desk in February 2016 and haven't looked back!

What did you do before SculptHouse?

In 2010, I graduated from Auburn University and moved to Atlanta, where I worked as a Physician Recruiter and Medical Device Sales Rep. When I initially joined SH as a Front Desk employee, my goal was to become an instructor, but as I became more involved on the management side and was promoted to Studio Manager, I knew this was the role I was going to thrive in!

Locations

What makes you a key part of the SculptHouse team?

It didn't take long for me to recognize that SculptHouse was going to be something really special in my life, in Atlanta and in the fitness industry. I truly want to use my passion for health to fitness to help others improve their lives. Managing a studio that is positively impacting so many clients is an amazing feeling and I am completely dedicated to spreading the SH love!

I get things done and can handle making the tough decisions, when needed. I am meticulous, organized and know the only way to grow is to continuously learn! We are dedicated to our clients, just as they are to us, so I am continuously evaluating what tasks need to be accomplished or what fresh ideas can be brought to fruition, to ensure we are delivering the best experience possible!

What brought you to SculptHouse?

I moved to Atlanta back in June of 2015 to start pursuing my Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy at Emory University. I really enjoyed group exercise in college, so I started trying the many boutique fitness studios in the area and asking fellow class members what studios they loved. This led me to SculptHouse, and like many others I fell in love and noticed changes in my body within weeks! The intervals on the Curve go by fast, which is great since I don’t love to run and the M3 drastically improved my core and overall strength!

What did you do before SculptHouse?

I grew up in Charlotte, NC as a competitive gymnast. After suffering a career ending back injury, my experience in physical therapy led me to earning a B.S. in Exercise Science at the University of South Carolina. I graduated in May of 2015 and moved to Atlanta two weeks after to start my next chapter of school at Emory. I have been a full-time graduate student at Emory for the past 2.5 years and am graduating this coming May!

What unique style do you bring to your classes?

I’ve always loved exercising not only for the physical benefits, but the mental clarity it gives me to balance out my busy schedule. I believe taking just an hour for yourself each day is so valuable and important for overall health and wellbeing. I want to be able to provide that positive atmosphere for our clients, giving them that opportunity to zone out for that one hour of their day, while being supportive, motivating and offering modifications when needed. A fresh, upbeat playlist and a little tough love never hurt anyone either.

Guilty pleasure?

Mexican food + margaritas! Also, I have the absolute WORST sweet tooth, no willpower whatsoever. Put any type of dessert in front of me and I can never turn it down.
